Objectives/Aims: 1. Students will be able to identify the procedure text.
2. Students will be able to identify the generic structure of the descriptive text and will be able to use it well.
3. Students will be able to write a descriptive text.

Language Features:
• Simple Present Tense
It is used for present time. There are two patterns of these, Verb and Non Verb as follows:
Pattern for Verb: (+) S + V1 (s/es) + O
(-) S + Do/ Does + Not + V1 + O
(?) Do/ Does + S + V1 +O

• Noun Modifier
1. The use of degree of comparison
e.g.:

Descriptive Text
                                                                              Rice




Rice is one of staple foods in almost all countries at south East Asia including Indonesia. In Indonesia, it is one of staple foods besides wheat, corn, taro and sago. Wheat, corn, taro and sago are consumed by east Indonesian citizen.
Rice is a plant with green leaves. It also has green buah and will become yellow when it is ripe. Its leaves also little bit sharp so it is hoped you to be careful when you touch it. This plant also tall enough, it’s about 1 meter.
When rice is ripe, it will be so bend. It will be ready to harvest in 3 months.

Exercise 1: Answer these questions below based on the text above!
1. What does the text above tell about?
2. What are staple foods consumed by Indonesian citizen besides rice?
3. When will the buah rice become yellow?
4. Why you should be careful when you touch rice leaves?
5. How long rice will be ready to harvest?

Exercise 2: Teacher asks students to write a descriptive text. They will describe rice field!
The students will be visited the rice field near their school. After they are there, they are asked to write a descriptive text about rice field. When their work finished, they back to the class and teacher check their works and ask them to read it loudly in front of the class.
