From tin can and bottle.
Now, usage of WH question in asking information.
What = when you are asking for information about something.
When = to ask about the time that something happened or will happen.
Where = to ask questions about place or position.
Who or whom = when you are asking about someone's identity
Why = to ask for a reason.
How = to ask about the way in which something is done.
This is example of usage WH question in making trumpet from plastic bottle. Make group of three students, 1 student as speaker and 2 students as demonstrator. This activity does in front of class
S (Speaker): Good morning, my friend. As you can see, there are cutter, scissor, transparent and green adhesive tape, yellow rubber, pink balloon, origami paper and the last is plastic bottle. This bottle is quite thick and has same measurement from neck until base of bottle. So, first question is what will we do now with these things? We will make a simple trumpet. Second question is how to make it? First step, we have to slice bottle into two pieces with scissor. Don’t slice it in middle of bottle. After that, make a circle hole in base of bottle with cutter. Then put mouth of bottle into another piece of bottle until the hole that have we made before. Mouth of bottle has to have same position with outside base of bottle.
Next question is when do we use balloon, rubber and adhesive tape? We can use them when we finished do to this bottle like this (show the bottle by demonstrator). Why those things are have different colour? I think because if we use same colour, it will be not interesting to see. Colourful is better than the same colour. But, if you want to use same colour, it’s OK. Come to next step, close the hole in base of bottle and mouth of bottle with balloon. This balloon has to cover the hole. Tie balloon up with rubber. If there is space, close it very tight with transparent cellophane tape. Why do we close the space very tight? Because of spaces can produce weak voice. If there is no space, this trumpet can result loud voice. Last step is decorating trumpet with colourful paper like origami paper. Now, you can blow your trumpet!
This is example of using WH question:
Students can do this activity like the example above. Other students, who do not demonstrate in front of class, can take a note about WH question that is used by their friends.
