Basic Competence : mengungkapkan makna dan langkah dalam esai pendek sangat sederhana dengan menggunakan ragam bahasa tulis secara akurat, lancar dan berterima untuk berinteraksi dengan lingkingan terdekat dalam teks berbentuk descriptive.
Objectives:

Activity 2. Descriptive text
Kerinci’s Waterfall
The Beauty of this waterfall lays in the big water that rolls plunging from a height of about 47 m. Thundering sound and sprinkling of its water will form rainbow of hit by sunshine. This beauty of the waterfall can be enjoyed from a distance of about 200 m because the spring kling water can wet visitors. It is one of famous waterfalls in Kerinci Regency, easily reached by tourists with motor bike or car. It is located in Leter W Village of about 60 Km northwards form Sungai Penuh Town at a coordinates of 01° 41’ 18” South – 101° 20’ 22” East.

Descriptive Text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. The purpose of descriptive text is to create a clear picture of a person, place, thing, or idea through the use of vivid, powerful words help a reader see, experiences, or know an object, place, time, or person. Descriptive text has structure as below:
- Identification : identifying the phenomenon to be described.
- Description : describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or/and characteristics.

(1). Like the other hundreds of mountains on the island, Kerinchi is a volcano.
(2). Kerinchi lasted erupted in 1970, and continues to emit clouds of sulphurous smoke.
(3). Its steep, pine-forested slopes rise in isolation above surrounding farmland.
(4). It is located near the west coast, about 80 miles south of the coastal city of Padang.
(5). Mount Kerinchi is the highest mountain of Sumatra.
